Holiday Home Tenerife North is located in El Caletón, a small picturesque fishing village with its own beach in the green subtropical north of Tenerife which belongs to the municipality of La Matanza. This authentic fishing village is situated at the foot of the cliffs and can be reached fromThe the La Matanza exit via a beautiful, adventurous serpentine road down to the sea. This special place cannot be reached by public transport, but only by car or motorbike or, if you are very sporty, by mountain bike or on foot.

Peace and quiet by the sea, yet not far from the city and other attractions. The first supermarket is 15 minutes away by car. Puerto de la Cruz is 20 minutes away by car.

El Caletón has about 100 inhabitants and captivates with its special simplicity. While strolling through the narrow streets, you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of cliffs, houses, huts and banana plantations. Don’t forget to visit the village square with its beautiful chapel where you can enjoy the view. There is no supermarket or shops in El Caletón, groceries should be bought in La Matanza. There are two local bars in the bay on the beach. The authentic restaurant Casa Miguel, built on the rocks, offers delicious fresh fish specialities. Enjoying the view with good food and drink is part of the experience, often with (live) music. 

In the bay you will find the small beach and several natural pools and lagoons where you can swim and snorkel depending on the tide and weather. Be careful and if in doubt, better ask the locals where you can swim. Besides swimming, fishing is one of the locals’ favourite activities. When the sea is calm, boats are moored in the bay and you can go canoeing. In summer there is a lively village life, in winter El Caletón is rather quiet and deserted.

El Caletón is a very special place, surrounded by nature and right by the sea, where you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks. Ideal for relaxing and working.
